Apparatus for electrolytic or chemical coating of flat objects (10) consists of a cell having vertical feeder pipes (RL, RE) for air and electrolyte. Connected to these pipes are venetian blind-shaped plates which form a grid-like flow channel for the air and fluid. The plates on one side of the object (10) are inclined downwardly and those on the opposite side upwardly ( alpha 1) with respect to a horizontal plane. Each plate is also inclined upwardly ( alpha 2) with respect to a perpendicular plane from the object which runs parallel to the plate.
