<p>After initial tensioning (see tension pulley 21, figs 5 to 9) of cable 7 final tensioning is carried out by tension rollers 31, 32 supported by arms 29, 30. Tensioning of the cable 7 is accomplished by altering the angle between the arms 29, 30 which is effected by turning both adjusting members 66, 67 using driver 82. The members 66, 67 are connected to the arms 29, 30 by protrusions 72, 73 engaging in holes 76, 77 under a resilient force produced by springs 74, 75. When the driver 82 is inserted into grooves 83, 84 the resilient force is overcome and the protrusions 72, 73 are disengaged from the holes 76, 77. Members 66, 67 have gear portions which are meshed with arcuate gear portions 78, 79 on adjusting plates 63, 64, which are biased by tension spring 65, so that when the protrusions and holes are disengaged the members 66, 67 are allowed to revolve around the arcuate portion, thereby adjusting the angle between the arms 29, 30. A gear train selector mechanism (see figs 14 to 18) is also disclosed.</p> |
