FIRE RETARDANT FORMULATION FOR LIGNOCELLULOSIC AND PLASTIC MATERIALS

A fire retardant composition comprising a substrate, normally combustible, in combination with wood fly ash. In one aspect the fire retardant composition is able to be applied to combustible substrate and comprises a settable resin containing wood fly ash. The invention also provides a method of imparting fire retardancy to a composition that comprise incorporating fly ash into that composition.
