<p>The installation includes a conveyor carrying objects to be painted, such as vehicle shells, with spray jets (5a-5i) supplied with the paint product. Each jet is supplied with paint from a reservoir (6) with a piston (7) controlled by an electric stepping motor (8). The stepping motors (8) are numerically controlled by a robot. The position of the piston within the reservoir is controlled in conjunction with a measurement of the position of the vehicle shell as it moves along the conveyor. A specific relationship represented by a graph is used to determine the piston position in relation to the vehicle position, and the speed at which the conveyor is travelling.</p> |
