PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provided a fluorine compound/hydrogen storage alloy composite body which has a water-repelling effect and can absorb hydrogen gas efficiently. SOLUTION: The material of the present invention is a fluorine compound- hydrogen storage alloy composite body produced by coating the surface of hydrogen storage alloy particles with a metal coating film containing fine particles of the fluorine compound. As the metal of the coating film, Ni, Cu, Co, Ni-P, Ni-W, Ni-W-P, Ni-B, Ni-W-B, Cu-Ni, Cu-P, Co-P, Co-B, CoθW, or the like are used. On the other hand, as the fluorine compound, polytetrafluoroethylene or the like is used. As the manufacture of the fluorine compound-hydrogen storage alloy composite body, a coating film of copper or a copper-based alloy containing fine particles of the fluorine compound is formed on the surface of the hydrogen storage alloy particles by electrolytic plating in a pyrophosphoric acid bath in which the fine particles of fluorine compound are dispersed. |
