MELT-MOLDABLE CRYSTALLINE POLYIMIDE

摘要

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a melt-moldable crystalline polyimide having an m.p. lower than the thermal decomposition temp. by selecting a polyimide comprising two specific kinds of repeating imide units. SOLUTION: This polyimide comprises 50-95mol% repeating imide units represented by formula I and 5-50mol% at least one kind of repeating imide units represented by formula II and has a logarithmic viscosity (in sulfuric acid at 30±0.01 deg.C in a concn. of 0.5g/dl) of 0.1-5dl/g. Formulas III and IV show more specific examples of the unit represented by formula II.
