PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and a device capable of reducing power consumption in operation in a sleep mode without largely increasing the time required to recover ordinary operation temperature of a member which can be moved and heated at the time of finishing the sleep mode of an image forming device. SOLUTION: In this method, the sleep mode of the image forming device provided with the member which can be moved and heated, a driving means for driving the member, and a heating means heating the member while the member is driven by the driving means is controlled, and the driving means M and the heating means H are controlled to hold the member which can be heated at temperature (Te) under the ordinary operation temperature (To) in order to reduce the power consumption in the sleep mode. In the method, the driving means M and the heating means 22 and 26 are intermittently excited. The heating means is excited by maximum power in the case it is switched to be on. |
