PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an encoding device having a high compression speed with a small-sized and simple constitution. SOLUTION: Plural pattern-classified data obtained by voice analog data at intervals of a prescribed time are stored in a candidate storage means 101. A digital/analog comparison and judgement means 111 performs pattern matching to analog data as the encoding object. Concretely, the difference between individual analog data obtained by D/A conversion of individual digital data at each pattern and divided analog data as the encoding object is made logarithmic, and the sum total for each individual analog data is obtained. Since analog data is directly encoded without being temporarily converted into digital data, data is highly compressed with the simple circuit constitution.
