PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a stereoscopic microscope which improves the efficiency of cataract operation by generating red color beam reflection uniformly in the observed pupil of the eye at the time of the ophthalmological cataract operation and protects the retina by freely adjusting the lightness of the red color beam reflection and preventing unnecessary illumination light from being made incident on the retina. SOLUTION: The stereoscopic microscope which has a couple of observation optical systems 6 and an illumination optical system arranged above the stereoscopic microscope objective 1 so that the optical axes are made not coaxial has a 1st reflecting surface 3 which converts the travel direction of part of the illumination light emitted by the lighting optical system and a 2nd reflecting surface 16 which converts the travel direction of the illumination light reflected by the 1st reflecting surface 3 to the observed body between the illumination optical system and single objective 1; and a parallelogram prism 31 is arranged on the opposite side of the arrangement position of the illumination optical system about the straight line connecting the optical axes of the couple of observation optical systems 6 as to the 2nd reflecting surface 16. |
