METHOD AND DEVICE OF RECORING AND READ ON HIGH CAPACITY MEDIA

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide the recording and reading device building up a video storage device in a home of a customer by means of a large capacity data storage technology and a proper technical means. SOLUTION: A broadcast station sends lots of programs via specific channels and a customer receives the program by using an antenna 2 or the like and the program enters a recording and reading means 4 via a frequency selection means 1 and a digital coder 3 and stored in a recording medium 4a. The recording, read and erasure of the program to/from the recording medium 4a are controlled by using a control means 5 or the like to control the recording and read means 4 to allow the customer itself to manage its own storage device. The device is applied to an on-demand video system in a home of the customer having the video storage device forming the video library updated periodically by the broadcast station or the customer itself.
