PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To confirm that a process cartridge is exactly attached even when an opening/closing door is opened by detecting the attachment of the process cartridge and informing of it. SOLUTION: When a user opens the opening/closing door 17 of an image forming device main body 33 in order to attach the process cartridge 16, a door switch 28 is turned off and the energizing of a motive power source and a high voltage generation circuit 24 is interrupted so as to protect the user from an accident such as electric shock. Simultaneously, the door switch is connected to a microswitch 18. In the case the cartridge 16 stops halfway though the user tries to attach the cartridge 16 in the main body 33, the microswitch 18 is in a state of no cartridge. When the cartridge 16 is exactly housed at a specified position the microswitch 18 is pressed by the cartridge 16 and the state is shown that the cartridge exists. A CPU actuates a display device so as to inform the user of the effect. |
