FIELD: mechanical engineering. SUBSTANCE: cutting insert 1 for usage in rotational cutting tools, in which cutting edge is mounted between front cutting surface and rear back-off surface 13 and base edge 20 is located between rear back-off surface and base surface. In the case, cutting edge is composed of set of in series located composite cutting edges 17a, 17b, 17c and intermediate edges 21, that are correspondingly located between in series located composite cutting edges. Each composite cutting edge has corresponding front and rear endings and is directed from its front ending to base edge side and each front edge besides front ending of first front composite cutting edge is conjugated with closest to it previous rear ending through intermediate edge, that is directed from rear ending to opposite direction from base edge. EFFECT: improved design. |
