FIELD: mechanical engineering; internal combustion engines. SUBSTANCE: piston engine has cylinder block in which cylinders are arranged over perimeter around central shaft axis. Engine has also connecting rod and piston group, cranks which are not connected into crankshaft but transmit rotation through gears to central shaft which simultaneously plays the part of camshaft. EFFECT: simplified design, ease of manufacture, increased economy owing to use of antifriction bearings, no special camshaft. |
