PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To cope with an increased number of coiling layers and improve a manufacturing yield, by controlling electrode group holding blocks when insulation sheets, a positive electrode sheet, and a negative electrode sheet, which correspond to one another, are coiled around a coiling mandrel. SOLUTION: A cylindrical electrode 14 is manufactured, by coiling insulation sheets 10, 10' supplied respectively from sheet supply mechanisms 11, 11' fitted with guides, a positive electrode sheet 8 and a negative electrode sheet 9, both being belt-shaped, around a coiling mandrel 7a of a coiling mechanism proper 7. In this event, each a pair of electrode holding blocks 12, 12', in which an arc equal to the radius of the electrode 14 or under is formed, is movement- controlled by a holding block movement-control mechanism, and coiling action areas are sufficiently ensured, and therefore the electrode 14 free from a damages by contacting is formed. This enables an increased number of coiling layers to be coped with and a manufacturing yield to be heightened. |
