The centre longitudinal beam (3) is connected to a transverse beam (6) by a junction element (7). The centre longitudinal beam consists of a front and rear section (3a,b) which come together at the junction element which is located at the height of the front edge of the driver's and front passenger's seats. The transverse beam is connected to the underside section (13) of the junction element. The lower edge of the centre longitudinal beam lies higher than the lower edge of the side longitudinal beam (2).
