Laboratory fume cupboard with convex-curved window panels

Movable, convex-shaped windows (5,5') are provided in a laboratory fume cupboard. The windows are preferably made of bent solid glass sheets and can be moved from the closed position to an open position in which each panel is positioned next to the adjacent sidewall. A pair of levers (8, 8'; 16, 16') are provided to actuate the panels and are positioned with one end attached to the panel and the other end at a geometric centre in supports at the top of the cupboard, being located on different horizontal planes. In a particularly preferred arrangement, the window panels move into a gap (14, 14') between the adjacent outer wall and an inner wall (13, 13') parallel to the sidewall.
