The keyboard has a base (10), and has keys (3) that have an associated pivot (2). At the end of each key is a leaf spring (1) that is fixed to a key at one end (11), and is engaged by a magnet (6) at the other end. When a key is pressed a free movement occurs for some three quarters of the move, until a stop (7) with a felt pad is engaged. An increased force is required to cause the leaf spring to separate from the magnet and so complete the key stroke.
