<p>1515118 Cable sleeves SIEMENS AG 16 Sept 1975 [11 April 1975] 38093/75 Heading H2E A split cable sleeve is formed of thermoplastics material and comprises two half shells 1 each of which is provided at at least one end with a sealing member at least part of which is integral with its respective shell 1 and which includes a plurality of axially disposed ribs 9 and an opening for a cable. As described, an axial opening may be provided in each of two similar members 2 as shown, the sleeve being used to cover a cable joint. In further embodiments, (Figs. 1 and 3, not shown), one end of the sleeve may be provided with a replaceable seal that is located against an internal peripheral flange on the sleeve, being secured thereto by opposed flanges (Fig. 2) or by screws 6, the sleeve then being blind. The member may be provided with a plurality of part openings for a plurality of cables that are offset from the sleeve axis, Fig. 6, sealing insert 14 co-operating with the half shells to define the openings 16. The two shells 1 may be secured together by means 7, 8, 17. A metal insert (Fig. 8, not shown) may be secured at each end to a respective sealing member 2 to give axial strength and to effect screening. The cable sleeve may also be filled via an orifice therein which is sealed with either a plug kept in place by a clamping band, or by a plug provided with straps.</p> |
