An axially movable, rotatable switch actuating shaft 10 carries a disc 12 engageable with the oppositely sloping surfaces 22, 23, of one or more spring-pressed transmitting members 16 such that the axial position of the shaft 10 determines whether the lug(s) 19 of member(s) 16 hold(s) or release(s) actuating member(s) 6 of switch(es) 4. Rotation of shaft 10 causes rotation of an axle 7 carrying cams 5 for operating several switches 4, the cam nearest the disc 12 having two cam tracks to operate the actuating members 6 of the two switches 4 which are also controlled by the position of disc 12 (see Fig. 1, not shown), the two switches controlling the programme switch and the machine controlled thereby, for example a washing machine. |
