PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To secure a braking device of an elevator for a linear motor being less in noise at the time of brake operation and an elevator unit. SOLUTION: A mounted electromagnetic 20 of a braking device of a linear motor elevator is equipped with a movable iron cover 16, a magnet frame 19 storing a coil 18, a cylindrical coil spring A24 energizing this movable iron cover 16 in the direction of separating it from the magnet frame 19, and a cylindrical coil spring B25 operating when a gap between the movable iron cover 16 and the magnet frame 16 becomes less than the specified value, respectively. In succession, at the time when a brake is released, spring force due to a reduction in the gap between the movable iron cover 16 and the magnet frame 19 and an increasing rate of attraction of the electromagnet are approximated, but when the brake is operated, the spring force due to an increase in the gap and a decreasing rate of the attraction of the electromagnet are approximated, whereby an impact speed between a brake shoe and a rail is lowered. |
