PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a coating composition which contains a specific polymer, a polymerization initiator and a solvent as essential components and can form a protective film excellent in adhesion, abrasion resistance, staining resistance, chemical resistance, heat resistance and lubricity. SOLUTION: This coating composition comprises (A) a polymer bearing at least carboxyl groups and polymerizable unsaturated bonds, suitably a reaction product of a polymer containing segments of formula I and formula II with a compound having a polymerizable unsaturated bond and an epoxy groups in the molecular structure, (B) a polymerization initiator starting with the radiation of an activating beam and (C) a solvent, as essential components, and preferably in addition (D) a thermally crosslinking agent and/or a compound having a polymerizable unsaturated bond and/or (E) a leveling agent. |
