<p>Propylene and isobutylene are oxidized to acrolein and methacrolein respectively in the presence of a catalyst containing 5-60 parts Bi, 15-65 part Mo, 20-31 parts of oxygen and SO411, the proportion of SO411 not exceeding 30% of the total weight of Bi, Mo and oxygen. The oxidation is preferably carried out at 350-500 DEG C. in the presence of steam.ALSO:An oxidation catalyst comprises 5-60 parts of Bi, 15-65 parts Mo and 20-31 parts of oxygen and SO114 such that the proportion of SO114 do not exceed 30%. Additionally the catalyst may contain P. SO114 may be included as H2SO4, Fe2(SO4)3, FeSO4, CdSO4, Cr2(SO4)3, ZnSO4, or Ce2(SO4)3. The catalyst may be supported on Al2O3, SiO2, TiO2 or SiC and particles of 3-4 mins may be used.</p> |
