PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming device capable of executing optimum phase transition when a fixing roller provided with at least a phase transition layer transferable in its phase to an amorphous phase and crystalline phase on an arbor is rotatably held in a device body. SOLUTION: The fixing roller 13 provided with at least the phase transition layer 25 transferable in its phase to the amorphous phase and the crystalline phase on the arbor 24 is rotatably held in the device body 1. The phase transition layer 25 is heated and cooled by an inside cylinder 27 as heating and cooling means for causing the phase transition to the amorphous phase and the crystalline phase when the power supply to the device body 1 is turned on and off by a main switch 5. The command relating to image formation is outputted by an image formation command switch and the command of this image formation command switch is made effectual and ineffective by a preliminary control section. The inside cylinder 27 is actuated when this preliminary control section is turned on. |
