摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain an image information with high resolution by using plural solid image pickup elements by assuming the position obtained by calculating the mean of optimum focus adjustment positions of a photographic optical system for respective image pickup elements, as the optimum focus adjustment position of the whole device. SOLUTION: Video signals are sent from respective image pickup circuits 8-10 equipped with CCD sensors corresponding to the primary colors to a focus control circuit 1 and an image composition processing circuit 12. The focus control circuit 11 finds the best focus positions of a focus lens for the respective video signals by the video signals and a focus lens position detection sensor 13, and calculates the mean. A focus lens driving circuit 14 drives the focus lens to the mean position. To find the mean position, the quantity of deviation in focus position is stored in a memory 15 in advance and the best focus positions of the focus lens may be found on the basis of the stored deviation quantity and a video signal of one color component.
