A device for indicating the speed of a material travelling through a cooker or similar device used in the pulping industry, comprises a casing mounted on the cooker wall, which contains an opening (16) leading to the inside of the cooker. Transport components (30) in the device come into contact with the cooker material passing them and as a result they are made to move. A transmitter inside the device monitors the movement of the transport components without coming into contact with them. Preferably a number of axles (24) or plates with their side surfaces at right angles to the flow of material are used as the transport components. |
