Anti-theft system for motor vehicle with remote-control locking and electronic engine-immobiliser

The theft prevention system has a key-switch (10) operated by rotation of the ignition key (2) in the vehicle ignition lock (7) via an operating device (9) within the lock. The switch activates transmission of a code signal between the key and a receiver (4,5) within the vehicle, for de-activating a theft alarm or an engine disabling device when the code signal is validated. Pref. the key switch is operated by a mechanical stop within the ignition lock, a magnet, or a metallic element cooperating with a magnetically-activated switch, or a light source cooperating with a photo-switch.
