The present invention pertains to an electrically heatable honeycomb element (1) for the catalytic conversion of gases, in particular exhaust gases from an internal combustion engine. The element has a plurality of channels (4) which can be permeated by a fluid and is electrically divided up along its cross-section and/or axial extension, in particular meandering and/or helical.
