PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To interpolate the colors of respective picture elements in a polygon with linear interpolation (what is called glow shading). SOLUTION: The graphic display/generation device interpolating picture element data (z) in a projection triangle PQR for the XY plane of a triangle based on picture element data given to the respective vertexes of a triangle Pw Qw Rw on a coordinate system XYZ (XY coordinate plane is equivalent to a display screen and a Z-axis is equivalent to picture element data to be interpolated), is provided with an xy coordinate generation means which sequentially executes scanning in the direction of y-axis and generates the coordinate positions of the picture elements in the triangle PQR, a coefficient/constant calculation/storage means which obtains the coefficient component and the constant component of the plane equationβof the triangle PQR on the coordinate system and temporarily stores them and an arithmetic function obtaining a value Z, here, the plane equationβis set to be A(x-x1 )+B(y-y1 )+C(z-z1 )=0 and a point (x1 , y1 , z1 ) is on the planeβ. The coefficient components are A, B and C and the constant component is z1 . |
