摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a dimensionally reduced color liquid crystal display device by forming light shielding films on the circumferences of color pixel arranging regions and sticking one glass substrate and another glass substrate in such a manner that liquid crystals are sealed in the parts facing these light shielding films. SOLUTION: Many transparent electrodes arranged in parallel, a smooth film and an oriented film rubbed in a specified direction are successively formed on the glass substrate 2. The glass substrate 3 has the color pixel arranging regions (P) consisting of many pieces of color filters 4 arranged at every pixel and the light shielding films 6a consisting of a chromium metal are formed around the respective color filters 4 and the color pixel arranging regions (P). The liquid crystals 7 are sealed between both glass substrates 2 and 3 by, for example, a sealant 8 exhibiting white. A spacing L1 denotes the distance between the color pixel arranging regions (P) and the end of the color liquid crystal display device 15. A spacing L2 denotes the distance between the end of the glass substrate 3 and the end of the color liquid crystal display device 15. The spacing L3 and spacing L4 like heretofore are commonly used and, therefore, the spacing L1 is correspondingly made smaller.
