PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To allow the Bezier curve approximation device that approximates a Bezier curve with several straight lines to make straight line approximation of a Bezier curve at a high speed. SOLUTION: In the case of approximating one Bezier curve by several straight lines, at first, coordinate data at four control points of the Bezier curve being an object of straight line approximation processing are entered in the step S1. Then a prescribed division number of the Bezier curve set in advance is set to a division number measurement counter in the step S2. Then a 'Bezier curve division processing' subroutine is called in the step S3, in which the division processing and the straight line approximation processing of the Bezier curve are conducted. Plural straight line coordinate data approximating the Bezier curve obtained in the step S3 are outputted in the step S4. Thus, the Bezier curve is divided recursively until the prescribed division number is reached and end points of the Bezier curve obtained by the division are tied by straight lines to make straight line approximation at a high speed. |
