PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide the panorama image synthesis system in which the load of the user is relieved, the image is synthesized precisely and the entire processing time is reduced. SOLUTION: An edge extract image is generated (S41), a template image is segmented (S42) and a search range with respect to the template image is set (S43). The image in the search range and the template image are overlapped, an absolute value of a difference between picture element values is taken in the unit of picture elements and the sum is obtained (S44). Whether or not the synthesis of the difference is a minimum value obtained so far is checked (S45), and when the check is true, the coordinate of the point in the search range is stored. Whether or not the processing above is conducted for the entire search range is checked and a point having a minimum difference is found out. Then a coordinate (x, y) of a point at which the template image is segmented and a coordinate (x, y) whose minimum value is obtained are registered in a list of the corresponding point (S48). |
