<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To allow a PC connecting to a LAN(local area network) to confirm a voice mail and an electronic mail by installing additionally an electronic mail server and a voice/electronic mail gateway device. SOLUTION: A gateway device 5 has a connection I/F with a public line, a means extracting information from a voice mail device 2 at a periodical time interval, and a means converting voice information into a digital file, a means converting a box number of a voice mail into an address of an electronic mail, and a means transferring the generated digital file to a server 5 for the electronic mail. Thus, the voice file received as the electronic mail is distributed to the PC 3 connecting to a LAN 4 by transferring the voice information stored in the voice mail device 2 to the electronic mail server 5 of the LAN 4.</p> |
