PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To manufacture a surface heating element at low cost with high efficiency by forming an adherent liquefied heating element layer on the surface of at least one side of a continuous insulating sheet-shaped base, and bonding conductor foil thereto for formation of a conductor layer. SOLUTION: A sheet-shaped base such as a polyimide film, fed from a base roll 15, is fed as it is sandwiched between rollers 12, 13 dipped in a liquefied heating element obtained when a dispersed-carbon type high polymer heating element, composed chiefly of carbon fine piece, such as graphite, and a polymer, is mixed into a solution and given an adhesive property. The base with the heating element applied thereto is dried in an oven 16, is fed between rollers 17, 18, is laminated with conductor foil fed from a conductor roll 19, and is wound onto a laminate roll 20. Electrodes are formed on the conductor foil of this laminated heating element by etching, etc., whereby the heating element having the required heating characteristics can be constructed. |
