<p>A surgical/diagnostic imaging device for use in interabdominal, interthoracic, and other surgical and diagnostic procedures includes an image sensor (180) pivotally mounted at the distal end of a support (178). In use, the image sensor (180) and support (178) are contained within a disposable sterile sheath (152), and the distal portion (202) of the sheath is inserted into the patient through an incision. The imaging device includes actuators (154, 158) to move the image sensor in elevation and azimuth.</p> |
