The invention can be used up to approximately 13,700 metres for protecting aircraft passengers against the risks of depressurisation. It comprises an oxygen reserve (10) connected to a central distribution unit (14) which, in the event of depressurisation at high altitude, supplies, at a pressure which increases with the altitude, a pipe to which the masks (32) of the passengers are connected by a hose (30) provided with a constriction (24) for limiting the flow rate. The central unit is provided for temporarily, or above a specified cabin altitude, supplying the pipe with oxygen at a determined pressure, of the order of twice the pressure immediately supplied below the said determined altitude, and in that each mask comprises a shaped face cover (32), comprising a seal with internal lips for flexible sealing.

|
