SOLUTION: The molten metal to be refined with a primary crystal developing unit 35 is cooled to develop the primary crystal grains and the half-solidified forming body having a prescribed cross sectional shape and mixing the primary crystal grains and the concd. molten metal is continuously produced while cooling the molten metal containing the primary crystal grains with a transportation-forming unit 37. The half-solidified forming body is cut off in a prescribed length in order by a separation-recovering unit 39, and a pressure is applied to the cut-off half-solidified forming body one by one and separated into the primary crystal grain block and the concd. molten metal and the refined material is recovered.
