<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To previously prevent the deterioration of a shape due to a thermal crown by taking in as a factor the thermal crown amount of a roll at the position coinciding with the position in the width direction of respective divided bearings, with respect to the thermal crown due to the thermal expansion of a work roll. SOLUTION: The thermal crown of the roll is calculated with e.g. a heat transfer calculation by a differential method, i.e., first, roll conditions such as the size, specific heat, thermal conductivity, etc., of the roll and heating and cooling conditions of the roll such as the rolling velocity and distance in the preceding pass and the non-rolling time between passes, etc., are read in. (step 100 and 130) Next, frictional heating between the roll and the rolling stock and the heating value by plastic working of the rolling stock are calculated, then the axial and radical temperature distribution of the roll are calculated. (step 120) Finally, the thermal crown amount is calculated using the coefficient of linear thermal expansion from the temperature distribution of the roll. (step 130) Whereby, the initialization of a shape control actuator is suitably performed.</p> |
