摘要 <p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent a delay in expansion in the occupant faced surface of an air bag by providing gas passage holes formed on inflator cover regulating ejecting direction of ejected gas from an inflator mounted on to a base plate on the occupant faced surface side of the air bag. SOLUTION: When a vehicle collides, gas is blown out of the gas blown-out hole 3b of an inflator 3 to the side face side 4b of an inflator cover 4. At this time, roughly the half amount of blown-out gas is blown out to the side face side of an air bag 5 through a gas passage hole 4d. And the remaining gas is led to the occupant faced surface 4a side of the cover 4 through a gas leading part 4e so as to be blown out to the occupant faced surface side of the air bag 5 through a gas passage hole 4f. By this constitution, the air bag 5 starts developing and expanding, simultaneously, a module cover 6 is ruptured by the pressure of gas so as to be opened as if paired folding doors are opened. By this constitution, the developing and expanding velocities of the air bag are accelerated, and a sufficient shock absorbing effect against occupants can thereby be obtained.</p>
