<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce the frequency of development of bumping, to promote the melting of scrap and to reduce the unit consumption of electric power by executing the deoxidation of remained steel and the reduction of remained slag, in the remained molten steel operation in an arc furnace. SOLUTION: In the operational method for arc furnace utilizing the remaining molten steel for the following melting and refining by remaining each part of the molten steel and the molten slag in the furnace at the time of tapping, the furnace is tilted to the slag-off hole side just after tapping, a deoxidizer is supplied in the furnace from the slag-off hole and also, an inert gas is injected toward the remaining molten steel. Thereafter, scrap for refining in the following time is charged. By this method, before charging the scrap in the next time, since the remaining molten steel is deoxidized and the molten slag is reduced to lower the FeO content, the bumping is restrained and the carbon concn. in the molten steel in the melting period can be stabilized at a high value. As a result of it, the melting of the scrap is quickly progressed in the refining in the next time, and the unit consumption of the electric power at the time of operating is reduced.</p> |
