This invention discloses a process for the production of Lovastatine by fermentation, using a fungal transformer produced by introducing an Aspergillus strain which does not express Lovastatine, such as an Aspergillus oryzac strain, an Apergillus terreus strain DNA which expresses Lovastatine.
