SMALL SIZED CHIP ATTENUATOR FOR MICROWAVE AND MANUFACTURE THEREOF

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a microwave use small sized chip attenuator miniaturized to the same degree as the size of a chip transistor. SOLUTION: A resistance film 2, an earth electrode film 3 and input-output electrode films 4a, 4b are formed on an insulation board 1. The earth electrode film and the input output electrode film are formed symmetrically around the resistance film 2. The resistance film 2 is trimmed by thermal formation only to adjust the characteristic impedance. The length of the earth electrode film 3 from the center of the resistance film 2 to the end of the earth electrode film 3 is formed shorter than the length from the center of the resistance film 2 to the end of the input-output electrode films 4a, 4b so that the entire pattern is formed into T-shape. The length of the earth electrode film 3 is selected so that the attenuation deviation for a predetermined frequency range is within a predetermined permissible range.
