The proposed power element comprises: a unit (1) which can be detached along the longitudinal axis and is provided with annular cavities (2) at its ends; an elastic chamber (3) inside and coaxial with the unit (1); spacing inserts (4, 4') between the elements (1', 1'') of the detachable unit (1) along the plane of separation; end shut-off sleeves (5) in one of which is fitted a connecting pipe (6) for feeding the working medium into the elastic chamber (3); and ring-shaped disks (9) and seals (8) of the elastic chamber. Each detachable element (1', 1'') of the unit (1) consists of at least three separate sections along the length of the element, namely, a middle section (11) and two end sections (10); the latter are detachably joined to the middle section (11) in such a way as to be incapable of rotating relative to one another. The power element is intended for use in separating monolithic blocks from a rock mass without the use of explosives.
