The device (1) comprises a cam plate installed to rotate on a stationary axis and pivoting on one end on a switching rod. On the other end of the cam plate there is a curved slot in which a connecting element, preferably a pin, of a stop claw is movably engaged. The two ends of the curved slot each form the stop for the movement of the connecting element of the stop claw in its locked and unlocked end position. The shape and curvature of the curved slot controls both the movement termination of the stop claw and also leaves the length of the switching rod in the locking and non-locking condition constant.
