The protection device has a burst shield (7,7'') that is connected with a housing (6,6') via, at least, one rupture flange (20,20',21,21'). The connection between the burst shield and the housing, is separable in the case of the flywheel (2,2') rupturing. Thus, a relative movement of a rotation axle (40) of the flywheel is possible between the burst shield and the housing. There may be a mechanical braking means arranged between the housing and the burst shield. Thus, it is through these means that the rotating burst shield is stopped after the flywheel has burst. |
