<p>A scrubbing device is formed comprising an absorbent body (19), preferably regenerated cellulose sponge, having affixed on one surface thereof a woven web comprising a woven backing (11) and pile fibers (14) interwoven into the backing. The pile fibers (14) form the scouring surface which has improved non-scratching characteristics and good cleaning properties. The improved non-scratching characteristics are due to the lack of mineral abrasive or hardened resins which bind fibers of the non-woven scrims.</p> |
