Method of organising lifts or shared journeys

On main roads or at bus stops there have to be installed posts with identity card readers, connected by data communications lines with a central computer and store. The card reader should have two lights, red and green, connected with the small computer in the machine. When a person desires a lift or a shared journey, he must stand near such a post, and, if a driver able and desiring to offer a lift passes by, he must stop. Both persons should possess a card and make the cards visible, thereby showing readiness to proceed. The cards are then inserted in the machine and, if both cards are validated, they can share a journey and its cost.
