The protein is useful as a medicine for diagnosing and treating potassium channel diseases such as diabetes, as a reagent for developing and researching the medicine, etc. The new protein is obtained by screening a human tissue cell-originating genome library or cDNA library with a rat potassium channel whole length cDNA labeled with<32> P, etc., under a standard hybridization condition, subcloning the DNA of the obtained positive clone, determining the base sequence of the subcloned product by a termination method, and subsequently expressing the product in a host cell by a known genetic engineering technology. |
