<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a golf club having a sweet spot of expanded elliptical form on the center of a face, and a head designed to transmit maximum energy to the center of a ball. SOLUTION: The actual center of gravity G of a head 1 is set so as to come on the intersection of lines passing through the center of gravity positioned at the center of the upper surface of a head 1, a face 4 and a toe 5, and a distance (a) from the intersection of a line drawn from the actual center of gravity G to the sweet spot of the face 4 with a shaft axial line up to the actual center of gravity G is made equal or approximately equal to a distance (b) from the intersection to the face 4. As a result, even when a ball is hit on an area off the sweet spot, the shaft axial line is subjected to minimum torsion. Thus, moment is transmitted to the center part of a ball without any disturbance and generated energy is maximized, thereby preventing a drop in a carry.</p> |
