The invention concerns a device for heating water for heating purposes and for domestic consumption, the device having a gas burner and a first heat exchanger which lies in the path of a heating-water line which includes a water-circulating pump and a three-way valve. When water is used for domestic consumption, the three-way valve establishes an inner (short-circuit) line including the water-circulating pump and the first heat exchanger and thus actiates a second heat exchanger for the water for domestic consumption. Fitted in the gas-supply line is a valve assembly controlled by an electromagnetic control element which responds to heat demand from the heating system and by a hydraulic control element which is activated by domestic-water flow. In order to ensure a simple design, the valve assembly includes a main gas valve (20) and a second gas valve (51) located in a bypass line (50) passing round the main gas valve (20), the hydraulic control element (41) acting, as in heaters of water intended solely for domestic consumption, mechanically on the main gas valve (20) and the electromagnetic control element (52) acting on the second gas valve (51). |
