The ventilator consists of a deflector made from transparent plastic, e.g. 3 mm thick, fixed to a metal pivot which is fixed into the window opening of a vehicle door so that it directs outside air into the vehicle. The deflector's support has a stop which allows it to open to a max. of 45 deg . The dimensions of the deflector depend on the type of vehicle to which it is fitted, e.g. a Peugeot 306 measures 15 cm wide by 20 cm high.
